A cellar release:
Luis Pato is one of Portugal's most iconic winemakers, being recognised as one of the pioneers of the special Bairrada region. In fact Luis is often referred to as the 'King of Baga' due to his significant contribution to the development and promotion of the Baga grape variety, widely grown in this region. Luis' experience and craftsmanship are expressed in his wine, which is unsurprising with 40 years of wine making under his belt. Over this time his youthful energy, experimental nature and quest for quality have remained a constant.
Beautiful yellow hay colour with a nose that displays notes of maturity and slight oxidation. The maturity is wonderfully balanced by an impressive freshness of citrus, stone fruit and hints of orange and hazelnut. The palate is surprisingly fresh and lively with plenty of acidity and fleshy stone fruits. A lovely chalky minerality comes through on the finish with a well-rounded mouthfeel.
Exceptional wine.
